Performance Master Class on Sunday January 17

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Hello, Everyone!!!!

The time is upon us! Wow! The holidays surprise us every year with the progression of time, don’t they? We need someone to record (Warren will not be there anymore) and volunteers for treats. Any offers for either? Thank you in advance!

Our next Performance Master Class is coming up soon! Only 2 lessons left. The Class will be Sunday Jan. 17 from 6:00-8:30 at the home of The Stoffers. This is a great time to work your performance ‘chops’ for auditions/regional songs/NATS classical pieces, etc.

Date: Sunday Jan. 17, 2010
Time: 6:00-8:30
Dress: Nice Casual or dressy, no jeans.
Place: Home of Mari, Chuck, Elise and Sara Stoffer They have recently purchased a new Petroff piano

Directions: If you’re coming up Gilbert Rd. going north, you’ll turn West (left) on Brown to Forest, south (left) on Forest to Elmwood, east (left) to end of cul-de-sac. Were the Tudor on the left at the end of the street.

Here is a mapquest link:

Home # is 480-464-1316

Reminders….be there no later than 10 minutes prior to 6:00. Being prompt is respectable to all persons involved. Allow enough time to find the home also. Thank you!
Everyone bring a lot of bottled water!!! As always volunteers to bring extra treats is always appreciated!

Music is to be memorized. A CD will be made for you to keep and we will listen to your performance and analyze in the lesson following the performance.

This is not an optional event unless you had a prior commitment before this date was set which I needed to know when the date was originally set . Students who love to sing and learn never want to miss this even though they do have to be a bit more ‘under the gun’ to perform. This is a great venue to try out new pieces. Also, this experience is for each of you to grow and learn from your fellow students’ performances and also from their feedback . The Master Class has proven to be one of the most valuable tools of all…even above your lessons. :)
For those new students who have only had a few lessons, I would like you to perform this time if possible. It is important to not only learn from the others but to become part a supportive member of our incredible musical family. They are really great human beings and a safe place for you to learn and gain self confidence.
Plan ahead for another wonderful opportunity to hone your skills and share your new music with others….. Linda 
